I knew when I designed the covers for Book of Lies and Abyss of Hallucinations that it would be fairly demanding for foil stamping. There were some concerns from the printer about their ability to pull it off, but we decided to go ahead and have them set up the stamps, make a couple of covers, and send them over to see how they turned out.
And they turned out phenomenal! I've done a bit of foil stamping when I was doing more bookbinding, so I had a pretty good sense of how the foil would handle, also knowing it wouldn't be perfect. One of the things I love about this is that if you really dig in and scan closely, you can find subtle distortions, odd marks, and slight shifts in registration, but all of it is so well done. This captures that bit of wabi sabi that I love, while still looking intentional with an eye for detail.
So, I am absolutely in love with how the covers turned out. Here's a video:

We've made good progress over the past month and wanted to update you all on where we are with each item in the manufacturing process. Here is the list of new items we're producing, any previously released items not included here should already be in stock at our warehouses and ready to ship out with the new items when they arrive.

December 2025 - Manufacturing Update

Hello everyone!
As we wrap up 2025, we've also been wrapping up the last few issues that needed to be addressed before we could get the printers started!
- The typeface issue has been resolved.
- The color matching all of the various shades of black has been resolved.
- The typos and hyphenations issues have been resolved.
- The printer also changed how they would like the foldout pages set up. This required a bit of a hack on our end, but we got it there. Also resolved!
All revised files were resubmitted to the printer last week and we are now just waiting to receive the proofs for us to do a final review before we're able to start the presses.
Once printing has begun, the actually manufacturing process usually takes 4-6 weeks, followed by the shipping time to get the various items from the manufacturers to our warehouses. This often takes a similar amount of time to the actual manufacturing, but there are so many things that could impact shipping time that we never try to speculate on that ahead of time.
But once all the items arrive in port, get through customs, and are transported and checked in at our warehouses, fulfillment will begin! So please make sure that all your information is up to date (shipping addresses, CC info, etc) in the backerkit pledgemanager to prevent any unnecessary delays in getting your rewards! We will notify everyone on the next update about a timeline when addresses will be locking.

IT has been a long while since I last wrote to you. I hope you are doing well and have found time to stare into the field of night. This update will be short, but know that I have much longer adulations trembling inside my dark soul when I mull over the swell of gratitude produced by your support for this strange emanation we call Abyss of Hallucinations.
We received screen proofs for the core book. I had very much hoped that this would yield no issues, and I would just give the thumbs up and keep things rolling. Unfortunately, we did find a couple of items to work out. Thank the Mother of Abominations that it was just one typo, a missing hyphen, one color mismatch, and a typeface issue. All minor, all quick. No candles to burn, no sacrifices to be made. Merely a rubbing of the pentacle.
I expect we will be able to get this all cleared up very soon and back over to production.
One of the best parts of reviewing the screen proof has been that every damn time I look through this book, I am reminded of how much I love it.
Things are moving. The earth is quaking.

October Manufacturing Update

Hello everyone,
Thanks, as always, for your patience while we've been working with the printers to fix the last few issues that always crop up in the final stages before printing. While we've been in the cycle of revisions and resubmitting files to the printer, we've also been catching other errors, such as incorrect cover material listed for the Collected Edition and the wrong number of panels in the GM screen, both of which have been corrected. So progress is definitely being made and we will have a completion date for the Collected Volume and Slipcase printings soon!
While we wait on a production update from the European printers for the core hardcover printed materials, we are also in the process of production of the other remaining items, most of which are being made in the US (the coin is the only exception). We expect all of these items to arrive ahead of the items from Europe, which will avoid fulfillment delays.
We know this does not provide the fulfillment schedule everyone is hoping to see, and we apologize for the lateness of this update... 2025 has been an extremely complex year for manufacturing, freight, and everything related to fulfilling crowdfunded campaigns, and every aspect of it is simply taking longer than anticipated. Even just communication with our manufacturers overseas is delayed while they are working to navigate current events themselves. At this time, fulfillment will likely begin very early in 2026. But while 2025 is certainly a factor in the delays in fulfillment, it is not an excuse for not providing an update last month. We will do better and are still hoping to have a more detailed fulfillment schedule for you soon.
